New Experience
Hello, it's been a while. I've rebuilt the site and I hope you enjoy the new layout.
In a routine house-cleaning of my digital crap I found this amazing photo of my sister learning to ride a bike. I was teaching her to ride in the parking lot of the Vancouver Music Academy on my blue cruiser. I always think fondly of this moment.
I don't have a lot of winter pics because it's tough in my city to capture well-dressed riders. I do see them around, but whipping out the camera adds to the difficulty. In a quick look back at a summery time and a cool moment, and given my sites *newness*, I hope you like the photo.
Look forward to more big pictures.

Mad Dog and Powell Street Slim. Now You Know
On a date, I was reluctant to photo anything because I just wanted to not think of my blog for a day. My lady insisted I photo these two guys that rode past us on their cruisers, so on our way out from the beach I asked them for a few shots. Here is what I discovered:
Lesson #1: Blaine, aka. "Powell Street Slim" (bearded one) and Gary, aka. "Mad Dog" are Vancouver cruiser veterans. Any time you see hoards of cruisers tearing up the city you can bet these guys are part of it.
It was an honour to meet them since I started cycling by building up old cruisers and bothering the local cruiser guys at stores and on forums. I recognized these names and now I know who they are--and so do you.
Lesson #2: Listen to your girlfriend once in a while.

Things I Like Because They Involve a Bike: Red Racer IPA
When it comes to wine, I admit to buying the occasional bottle simply because of a picture on it of a bike, but this... THIS is actually my favourite beer of the summer for more than just the picture. I first heard of this beer at the Alibi Room in gastown (great selection of beer). It is IPA x10 and hoppy as hell. This beer is the thing I think the most about at work next to throwing my clients out of the third story window and, well, biking home.
Check out the other great beers from Central City Brewery.
